Grief & trauma therapy and support for the whole you
- Counseling Specializing in Support for Grief, Trauma, Chronic Illness - - Clinical Supervision for Washington LMHCAs & LMFTAs - - Yoga somatic therapy for grief, trauma, chronic illness coming in 2026 -
We all hold the capacity to grow and move toward a life of health and happiness. Social, cultural, and family systems influence our perspective, and how we connect to ourselves and those around us. Sometimes we feel stuck, stretched thin, or hollowed by grief, trauma, or years of stress that haven't had space to breathe. Sometimes we need to heal from -- or at least learn to carry -- past pain or losses, whether from the death of someone close, a future we envisioned, a critical illness diagnosis, or our changing world. In other words, context matters.
When recent circumstances are challenging, or aspects of the past need to be reconciled and faced, together we explore ways to reconnect with your story, people close to you, and your strength through trauma informed therapy. I provide therapy for a wide range of adult individuals, couples, and family units, and have extensive experience in supporting those navigating grief, trauma, illness/medical trauma (including cancer and autoimmune conditions, particularly MS), and the accompanying stressors such as anxiety, nervous system dysregulation, sleep challenges. I am fully licensed, trauma-certified, and EMDR trained. Most sessions are offered virtually throughout Oregon and Washington. In-person and virtual yoga grief/trauma/somatic therapy starting spring, 2026.
I am also a Board-approved Clinical Supervisor for Washington LMHCAs and LMFTAs. The Supervision relationship is built on trust, reflection, support, and curiosity.

About Kir Rian
These beautiful, unpredictable, messy moments of life shape us, and I've learned that defining who we are through these moments helps us build the life we want ongoing. It's hard work. I help people navigate and sift through it all, and use a mindfulness-based, collaborative approach rooted in neural science, that often incorporates cbt, act, eft, somatic, and narrative therapy. I am a trauma-informed fully licensed LPC in Oregon and LMHC in Washington. I am also certified as a trauma therapist and EMDR trained.
I hold a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, as well as a Certification in Trauma Response Services, as well as a Masters in Fine Arts. With 25 years working across grief, trauma, and community healing, I’ve led groups, taught as a university professor, and held space for people navigating deep pain and deep resilience. My work is grounded in mindfulness, somatics, and collaborative care. I use she/her pronouns and welcome clients of all backgrounds, identities, and abilities.
I am also a Board licensed Clinical Supervisor for post-graduate LMCAs & LMFTAs in Washington. I deeply value these supervisory relationships, and the growth and learning that goes both ways.
